**The Santa Express** from Northern Central Railway brings the wonder of Christmas to life aboard vintage 1800s train cars rolling through the Pennsylvania countryside. Departing from the historic New Freedom Station, this one-hour roundtrip journey to Glen Rock is filled with festive music, carols, and classic rail nostalgia. As passengers settle into plush, coal-stove-heated coaches, Santa makes his way through each car greeting children, posing for photos, and handing out gifts to everyone on the “nice list.” Families can sip hot chocolate and enjoy cookies after the ride at the Engine House, where the model train display and gift shop add to the holiday fun. From the antique craftsmanship of the D. Reed Anderson car to the elegant Abraham Lincoln and New Freedom coaches, every seat holds a story from the golden age of rail. Itinerary
3:30 PM → Check in at the New Freedom Station and pick up your boarding passes. 4:00 PM → Board your 1800s-style coach car and settle in as the Santa Express departs for Glen Rock. 4:15 PM → Santa visits passengers on board, sharing small gifts and photo moments. 4:45 PM → Sing along to carols as the train returns to New Freedom. 5:00 PM → Enjoy cocoa and cookies at the Engine House and browse the model train exhibit.
