Experience a timeless Christmas journey aboard the Carolina Christmas Train’s Double Diners, where nostalgia meets holiday cheer. These single-level dining cars, built in 1954, invite families to relax at tables for two or four while festive lights dance outside and carols fill the air. During this 50-minute ride through the North Carolina countryside, guests enjoy hot chocolate, cookies, and a visit from Santa himself. The beautifully restored interiors feature soft lighting and holiday decorations that create a warm, cozy atmosphere reminiscent of classic Christmases past. Whether it’s your first time aboard or a returning tradition, this charming train ride is a celebration of family, joy, and the wonder of the rails.
Itinerary
- 5:15 PM – Arrive and check in at 100 Russell Drive, Star NC
- 5:30 PM – Board the Double Diner family class car
- 5:40 PM – Depart for a 50
- 6:00 PM – Enjoy cocoa, cookies, and Christmas carols
- 6:10 PM – Santa visits each family
- 6:20 PM – Return to station under festive lights

$59 Adults | $49 Kids (ages 2–12). Runs November 25–December 23 with 5:00 PM and 7:15 PM departures.

Instructions
Arrive 15 minutes before departure for check-in at Boarding Area 1, Star, NC. Online purchases only.
Restrictions
Children under 2 may ride free as lap infants. Not ADA accessible. No refunds for missed departures.
Transportation
Guests provide their own transportation to Star Station; free parking available on-site.
