Description
Step aboard the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad’s Polar Express™ Train Ride and rediscover the wonder of Christmas. Inspired by the beloved book and film, this one-hour adventure takes you on a journey to the North Pole where Santa and his helpers await. Sing along to the movie’s soundtrack as hot chocolate and cookies are served, and enjoy a live reading of the story as the train rolls through the winter landscape. Children receive a commemorative silver bell as Santa makes his way through each car. Coach passengers enjoy classic seating and festive atmosphere; Table Class guests ride in private booths for two or four; and First Class passengers relax in plush surroundings with souvenir mugs, cookies, cocoa, and a keepsake ornament. It’s a magical family experience you’ll treasure for years to come.

Price & Availability
Available November 21 – December 23, 2025. Coach Class $40 per ticket (children under 2 ride free on lap). Table Class $153 for two-top, $305 for four-top. First Class $90 (lounge), $375–$535 for private 4- or 8-top tables. All rides approximately one hour round trip. Steam-powered excursions (Nov 21–23) include a $10 Heritage Fee to preserve historic locomotives.

Hot chocolate, cookies, and souvenir mugs (First Class) provided; additional snacks and gifts available in the depot gift shop.
Instructions
Arrive 30 minutes early for check-in; remain seated during the ride; follow staff directions.
Restrictions
Children under 2 ride free on lap; no refunds for missed trains or late arrivals.
Transportation
Transportation not included; free parking at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad depot in Cumberland.
