Step into a scene from history aboard Pennsylvania’s East Broad Top Railroad for a holiday ride like no other. During “Christmas in Coal Country,” families board coal-stove-heated train cars for a one-hour journey behind a 107-year-old steam locomotive. As you roll past winter landscapes, Santa joins the ride to greet families and present each child with a special gift. Sip hot cocoa, savor cookies, and learn about how mining families celebrated Christmas generations ago. Afterward, visit the historic station to write letters to Santa, see model train displays, and grab a warm treat from local vendors. It’s a nostalgic blend of tradition, storytelling, and small-town holiday cheer that captures the true spirit of the season.
